About Park Place Christian Church Park Place Christian Church is part of the Christian body called the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Sometimes we're referred to as "Disciples" and are often seen as a New Testament Church. We encourage each other to read the scriptures, to partcipate in Sunday school and Bible study, as well as express his/her own opinions and interpretations.
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) believes that the following confession of faith is all that is required of those who desire to become memebers of our congregation.
"Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, The Son of the Living God, And do you accept Him as Your Savior?"
In the Christian Church, there are two basic ordinances which we stress and observe: Baptism and Communion. We practice baptism by immersion; however, we do recognize all Christian baptisms. We celebrate Communion each Sunday around the Lord's Table and no one is excluded from receiving the communion meal. We Disciples believe in unity while embracing diversity. We affirm that we are not the only Christians, but Christians only. We are Bible-centered, open, inclusive, and affirming. We are the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
